Tell us a bit about yourself

Lover of the great outdoors, explorer on the road, would like to become a gipsy but adventures in our Glampervan are the best next thing.

Why did you get a van?

Life's too short to postpone anything adventurous or fun.

Why Glampervan for your build?

I wanted a company specialized in the RAM Promaster and an interior design that was warm and cozy, with a 'home' feeling and not an RV feeling.

What are your favorite features?

The bed is super comfy, and we love sleeping in. The fridge fits more than we expected which allows us to be off the grid for a long time. The water heater and space heater are a must. But most importantly, knowing that your solar panels keep you powered no matter what.

Tell us about your glampervan experience

We had no issues with your van, the team at Glampervan is fun, friendly and responsive. The van is perfect for adventures, but also stealth when needed. Everywhere we go someone approaches us and is blown away by the craftsmanship of the interior.

Favorite Glampervan Destination?

It's hard to pick since we traveled across the country. We slept in the Dixie National Forest in Utah and were warm and cozy even in cold weather, thanks to the heater inside our van. We worked from the van while camping on top of the Colorado National Monument, the Lagun table is wide and perfect for a laptop plus a portable monitor. From Death Valley NP to Joshua Tree NP, Great Basin NP, you name it, everywhere we go, getting there late at night or in the rain is no issue with the outside lights and comfy bed.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I retired after a 35 year career. I love to travel and have always enjoyed the outdoors. As a younger person, I enjoyed backpacking, camping and mountain biking.

Why did you get a van?

During the first year of the pandemic I didn't feel like I could travel safely. I had previously thought about buying a vehicle for travel and camping but had not been motivated enough to get past the "thinking" stage. By the summer of 2020 I realized it was time to take the leap to preserve my sanity.

Why Glampervan for your build?

I considered a number of van conversion companies. Some were outside my price range and others did not have a design that fit my needs. I found Glampervan midway into my search and liked the design, liked that it was a Promaster build, and liked that I could pick and choose from a list of options to add to the basic build.

What are your favorite features?

The overall design takes great advantage of the space. The kitchen window allows visibility as well as a cross breeze through the van. The solar power makes van living more comfortable when there are no other energy sources. The Webasto has proven itself time and again and has kept the van cozy and warm in some fairly extreme temperatures. In short, I enjoy just about everything in the van.

Tell us about your Glampervan experience

My experience has exceeded my expectations. The Glampervan team was wonderful to work with and has continued to provide support post purchase. The owner network is a great source of information and ideas. The van has made travel convenient and the design is perfect for my needs. In the 16 months I have had the van, I have travelled over 32,000 miles.

Favorite Glampervan destination?

I have travelled to a number of parks that I never took the time to visit as a younger person. They are all unique but Dog Canyon Campground in Guadalupe Mountain National Park, Many Glacier Campground in Glacier National Park and Fruita Campground in Capitol Reef National Park have been some of my favorites. Fruita is not the most scenic campground but it makes the list due to its proximity to beautiful hikes and drives.

In short, I enjoy just about everything in the van!"

Tell us a bit about yourself

We are retired now and have always been enthusiastic travelers. When we're on the road we already talking about our next travels, domestic or overseas? There's so much in the US we want to see.

Why did you decide to get a van?

Years ago we traveled the west coast in a 72 VW Westy, and always wanted to go bigger but not to an RV, when we saw the different options available it was clear the Promaster conversion was the perfect size for us.

Why Glampervan for your build?

Once we decided on a Promaster, we checked many of the conversion outfits all over the US, and since we lived so close to the build center it was easy to drop in to see the process and meet the gang there, we stopped in for van visits twice before going for it.

What are your favorite features?

We enjoy the styling and attention to detail that the interior reveals, plus there's tons of room for meal prep too, the webasto heater has been wonderful, we've been down to 19 degrees without any problems!

Tell us about your Glampervan experience

We bought a used Promaster cargo van with 10K miles on it and it's held up well! We've had reason to use the service center too, once to replace both Maxxfans which I destroyed driving under a super low parking structure, what a bummer. We made an appt and drove up and the guys replaced both fans in under 2 hours, previous to that we had to replace a defective fan due to some electrical issue within the fan. Both times the service was fast and everyone I met was super friendly, plus also asking if there's anything else they can do, like tightening screws or like that from all those horrible roads we've been on. It's great knowing they'll be there if we need help and it'll be a thorough fix whatever they do.

Favorite Glampervan destination?

We're going to have to note 2 places. First just outside of Glacier NP we boondocked on the Flathead River, drove the rig right out on the the stony rock bed and camped, had beers and flyfished, it was as perfect as you can get just living the dream. Then also out to the Badlands NP to the Sage Creek campground there's a loop where everyone camps. Initially we took pictures of Bison grazing about a half mile away, very cool. Eventually they mosied right up to the campground, and one lumbered right up to our van, my wife had to slip around the van to stay safely away from this monster! It was quite an experience for us and everyone around there.

Tell us a bit about yourself

Totally stoked Glampervan owners since July 2021. We are both retired Emergency Dispatchers and greatly enjoy the freedom of being able to just get up and go whenever we get the urge.

Why did you get a van?

As we approached retirement, it became part of our plan to either convert a van ourselves (a LOT of work for couple working full-time raising a teenager) or do some research on what was available out there. Glampervan (then located in San Francisco) was a short trip to see some vans being built and figure out what features suited us and what did not. We spent some vacation time renting vans from other local companies to further establish what we wanted and what we did not.

Why Glampervan for your build ?

Glampervan provided the perfect fit for us. We didn't want a huge van, but we did have some basic requirements. One of our rentals was a RAM Promaster, so we knew how it drove, the interior size (enough for the two of us), and its capabilities. Glampervan was also a local company for us, just over an hour's drive from our front door. We also really appreciated their professional work and personal touches in the build. Using the same model van every time, they have the interior dialed in, making consistent quality we felt confident investing in.

What are your favorite features?

The Webasto space heater is a top contender, as is the solar power system. We use an induction burner and an InstantPot on a daily basis with no issues, even on a few cloudy days. The interior storage is more than adequate for long trips, and the Murphy bed is great when we need more space for a large haul to the dump or the Goodwill! We love the bug screens - particularly when traveling through mosquito country. We very much appreciate the awning and porch lights for the additional living space they provide, particularly when boondocking away from any campsite or other amenities. It's big enough for what we need, but not so big that we run into parking issues or too much space for the two of us. Everything we need has its place.

Tell us about your Glampervan experience

Problems are always expected to arise, and we did have a problem with our Webasto space heater - specifically the fuel line providing the gasoline to this critical piece of comfort gear. Glampervan was quick to respond and help us identify the issue, scheduling and completing a fix in a very timely manner. Early Winter in Yellowstone National Park last year was not an issue because of our Webasto. We had an amazing trip. When we've had other questions, they've been very prompt responding and offering whatever help they can.v

Favorite Glampervan destination?

We've only had our Glampervan for a little over a year, and it's already difficult to pick a favorite. The aforementioned trip to Yellowstone quickly rises to the top, particularly a close encounter we got to have with a bison meandering up the road; they chose to stop just a few feet from our front bumper to check out our van. Photo op of a lifetime. We can park in any standard parking space, and the off-road package with snow tires came in particularly handy on those icy mornings.

"We really appreciated their professional work, using the same model van every time, they have the interior dialed in, making consistent quality we felt confident investing in."

Tell us a bit about yourself

I am a 61 year old retired school teacher who loves to spend time with my family, traveling and hiking. My husband and I have 2 grown daughters that live on opposite Coasts.

Why did you decide to get a van?

I had been wanting a camper van for some time, as my parents had a Roadtrek and I loved how they just packed it up and hit the road. When the Pandemic hit in March of 2020 however I got very serious. Our daughters were both on the East Coast and we were on the West Coast. There was no way I was getting on a lane to visit them, so we checked out Glampervan.

Why Glampervan for your build?

Glampervan was a local company with great reviews. Even though there was a pandemic going on, we were able to reach out to the Glampervan team and set up an appointment to visit the shop. Once there, we knew this was the place! This was our first time buying a van, so we weren't sure what to get in our build. We loved that we could pick and choose from a menu of items, but didn't have to make "customized" decisions. The team was so friendly, knowledgeable and passionate. We felt good about having Glampervan do our build.

What are your favorite features?

I love having a queen size bed that is always ready - no need to move anything at night. I love having 2 rooftop vents/fans for those warm nights and a heater for the cold ones. I also love the solar power. We can go anywhere anytime!

Tell us about your Glampervan experience

Our Glampervan experience has been exceptional! As new van owners, we had lots of questions at the beginning and we were always able to reach out with a phone call or email and get a response quickly. The team has walked me through winterizing the water system, helped with questions about the media system, heater, etc. Each time I have reached out, a team member responds quickly and is able to assist me. This is so important now that we have left the Bay Area and live in Boulder, Co. We love our Glampervan! We love that we can take it anywhere - in town, campgrounds and off road. All of the systems are so easy to use, there is tons of storage, and it is so comfortable.

Favorite Glampervan destination?

We have crossed the country 3 times in our Glampervan. We have seen so many incredible places! One that sticks in my mind though is a night we spent just outside of Green River, Utah on our very first cross country trip. We had read about some dispersed camping sites up a dirt road way above the town of Green River. We drove past wild horses on our way up and didn't see another person in sight. We got to the top and found an incredible spot to call home for the night. After driving all day it was so nice to use our outdoor shower as we overlooked the surrounding mountains. As we laid in the bed with the back doors wide open, we watched the sun set, the moon rise and the stars peek out. It was magical.

Tell us a bit about yourself

Born and raised in SF Bay Area, we love to ski and hike. Retired 3 years and Covid made travel difficult, a camper van seemed the best way to go - it has turned out great!

Why did you decide to get a van?

We had been tent campers, but we wanted a bit more comfort while keeping things simple & flexible.

Why Glampervan for your build?

Several reasons; 1) the lay out and options worked perfect for us. 2) the quality workmanship and service. 3) we rented other vans before making our decision and preferred Ram over Mercedes for how it drives and the lower price point

What are you favorite features?

The comfortable bed, the outdoor shower, the roomy refrigerator, solar self sufficiency and the overall smart design.

Tell me about your Glampervan experience

Excellent customer support; during the ordering process, coordinating the build and 6. months later when we needed help with fan issue.

Favorite Glampervan destination

We've been traveling with our van for 9 months now, our favorite place is Samuel P Taylor redwood park - its 90 minutes from our home, once there we are close to the ocean, great hiking, restaurants and the van's 18' size allows for easy driving on tight mountain roads.

"Excelent customer service, during the ordering process, coordinating the build, and 6 months later when we needed help with the fan issue."
